What does our waist to hip ratio tell us?

The reason we do this calculation is because research has shown that people who carry more weight around their waist than those who carry it on their hips face more health risks. Research has show that fat stored in areas around your hips, thighs and buttocks is at a lower risk level of cardiovascular disease.

Measure the waist at the narrowest part, normally just above the belly button and meaure your hip around the the widest part of your hip bone.
